What are your greatest cyber security challenges in the railway industry?

I know that two of my greatest cyber security challenges are to help people understand what needs doing and why it needs to be done. Cyber security isn’t new; the fundamental principles in my computer science books from the 1990s remain as relevant today as they were then. What has changed has been our uptake and integration of modern technology in the industry.

I believe the best way I can help build a solid cyber security foundation for the industry; to innovate and introduce new technology; is to share and educate others using the knowledge I’ve developed over the years. This conviction has been my motivation: to develop a bespoke railway cyber security training package at Tilt Consulting that seeks to engage railway professionals specifically. My goal is to meet you at your level – whether you're a project lead or a systems engineer – to ensure that you obtain better cyber security outcomes for your projects and systems.
